The Unrepentant - Rom 2:5-6, Rom. 11:22.

Romans 2:5-6 “But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God "will give to each person according to what he has done."

Rom 11:22 “Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.”

The debate exists: How can an all-loving God send anyone to Hell?

There is an understandable negative human response to punishment. I do not like the concept of hell and eternal punishment. The Scriptures teach that sometime God does not do what He prefers to do because of the sinfulness of man. 2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” Yet people defy God's will and therefore only those who do the will of God are saved. (Mat 7:21).

save the unrepentant is contrary to God’s holy nature and goodness. God is love, but He is also just. The Scriptures present love, holiness, justice, and righteous, all as being part of the nature of God who cannot deny His nature. It is impossible for God to ignore sin.

means that things must be made right. Everything must be paid for.. Since we cannot be holy, there is only one alternative God makes possible for us to escape judgment. Out of love He devised a plan by taking the punishment Himself for our sins, if we accept His gift and follow Him. He sends no one to hell. We are already lost. He came to save us and redeem us.

gives a way out. Why do some people today continue to live in selfish prideful ways rather than submit their wills to God? We reject God and His ways and replace Him with re-creations of our own minds that we like and to make ourselves acceptable by our standards.

No soul that seriously and consciously desires Christ will be turned away. Jesus is that way.

It is not a matter of debate on whose views you like the best, but what is truth and why should we believe Jesus who is the only one who knows. If you have any questions about the authenticity of Christ, study about His life, His death, His burial and resurrection. If that is convincing you that it is true, then accept all His teaching as truth. Others point out Jesus was either a liar – teaching something He knows was not true, or He was a lunatic - believing He was divine and would rise from the dead, but it not be true, or He was the Lord who needs to be heeded.

He is not the one who sends people to hell, but seeks to save people from hell before it is too late.

Application:  Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to You. He answers every prayer of the seeker.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I choose You. Come and reign in my life.
