TREATMENT for the Disease of Sin - Romans 5:18-21.

18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.   20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There is a cure for the disease of Sin. The doctor(the Holy Spirit) was careful to diagnosis the problem. It’s His job to tell it to you straight that the prognosis is terminal, but fortunately a cure has been discovered that is far greater than before. The fact is you have to receive it.

When I had strep-throat I was given antibiotics. The nurse made it clear to me that I needed to take all the pills until they were gone. It is important that I take these pills four times a day. I eat at least three times a day. I don’t usually forget to eat but I am horrible about remembering to take pills. If I put them on the kitchen table, I have them at each mealtime and then before I go to bed. More than once, I had to get up out of bed and trot downstairs because that silly pill bottle was not in front of my nose.

People have heard often they must receive Jesus Christ into their lives and hearts by faith and still they put it off. They don’t believe because, though Jesus is part of their lives, He is not dwelling within because they have not made Him their Lord and Savior. They may have a head belief, not a heart conversion letting Christ take over the master control room. We still want to be in charge of our lives. It is clear when Romans 10:13 says, “…everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Every Christian is faced with failure and a sinful nature, but I want to encourage you - God’s grace is greater than all your sin. There is nothing you can do to out-sin God’s grace. Nothing you have done is beyond God’s forgiveness. Still people refuse to accept the Lord Jesus as Savior. They do not want to give up their sins. They do not want to change their lifestyle. They do not want to surrender their lives. They hold onto the curse. They refuse the cure. If only they knew that they need the cure because of the curse, that the cure is much greater than the curse.

The longer we live in Jesus and the longer His Spirit works within our lives, the less often we fail in our faith walk. This is stepping into a growing relationship with our Lord. Just like we daily need food to live so daily we need to feed on God’s word and prayer.

There are lots of tools available to grow in our faith walk including church, Christian fellowship with other believers, and Christian materials with devotions, books, television and radio programing.

May God bless you on your spiritual journey.

Prayer:  Gracious Father, Redeemer and Friend.  Thank you for the many options that I have available to me in these current times to access Your Holy Word and teachings of Spirit filled instructors.   May it be the choicest of food for my soul.  Bless the Lord, Oh My Soul.
